the importance of the human element through information
security in a seminar in Asharqia Chamber
Member
of Asharqia Chamber and Chairman of the Teleommunications and Information
Technology Committee, Ibrahim bin Muhammed Al Sheikh said that with the
technical development in the world nowadays is witnessing increasing in attacks and E-crimes, it has
become more urgent, to find effective solutions, to raise awareness of the protection of companies
data and how to handle malware and
viruses, as the data is of great importance and essential to any small or big company
in the business sector.
Al
Sheikh explained in (The information security, challenges and responsibility),
organized by the Asharqia Chamber in
collaboration with the Technical College in Dammam, the morning of Wednesday,
December 7, 2016, the diversity of attacks in recently between international by
criminals and hackers, or local threats that can be equally
dangerous, and therefore the increase in
the awareness of human resource as it is the first defense against any
electronic attack.
Al
Sheikh said in the seminar which was
attended by head of the modern business systems company (MBS) Abdullah bin
Laden, that these are an opportunity to raise the awareness of the latest
preventive procedures against attacks or viruses in information systems or data
leakage, and to identify the solutions for the electronic problems faced by
owners of companies in various sectors,
as well as being an embodiment of cooperation and communication between the
chamber on the one hand and technical college in Dammam on the other hand, its
part of the efforts of the Telecommunications and information Technology Committee in the Chamber working the awareness of the sector electronically and
enable it to follow the improvements in the field of technology worldwide.
For
his part, Dean of Dammam Technology College Ahmed Bin Abdulkarem Al Thunayan
said that the technical college in Dammam by establishing the Academy "Aman"
is a necessary step to fill part of the urgent need in information security,
noting that the Academy is keen to practice the "moral intrusion "
pointing that the academy is still
in the process of establishing and will be in Dammam, stressing that it will offer professional courses in
information security by professional and specialized cadres, where the number
of hours will be 69 hours, including 60 visual hours, and 39 practicing hours,
as the trainee will apply the appropriate mechanism to hack the electronic
networks in to fill those gaps.
For
his part, the executive manger of the Modern Business Systems company Eng. Amer
Al Bisharat, estimated the total electronic attacks against the kingdom annually
by about 60 million.
Bisharat
said that the presence of specialized skills in the "moral intrusion "
is critical to protect data and private networks, whether governmental or civil
institutions, warning of ignoring protecting the internal networks or the use
of the necessary tools to prevent intrusion.
He
added that the attacks are connected to the national economy, as the protection
of information in countries is an essential part of the national economy, which
is the world governments are keen for, stressing that the Kingdom is paying great attention to the security of
information, and perhaps the information crimes system represents one of punishment
tools, that is up to a 20 years
in prison in addition to financial sanctions
of up to a million riyals.
He
stressed to take preventive procedures to protect computer systems with no tolerance
at all, and considered the human element as the first line of defense, since brains control the electronic systems, which forces
all international countries to improve
the human resources, noting that the weak training is one of the reasons behind
the failure to prevent the electronic intrusions ,
and therefore the success of intrusion represents
the damage of business etc, criticizing the lack of awareness in the investment
in human resource development in information security at the internationally.
